Our cats come from the streets, from homes that can’t keep them, from our city shelter system and many other places.
-
Our cats receive the following care: General physical exam, age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test, spay/neuter surgery, microchip insertion, and other medical care as needed.
-
Often, yes! Please note that it is our practice to place kittens in homes as pairs or where there’s already an active cat for a playmate. Kittens who are able to remain with a similarly-aged cat tend to be healthier, happier, and better socialized pets than those on their own at an early age.

First, know that we ALWAYS take our cats back if they are not adjusting to you, your other pets, or your home. Every placement deserves a chance, so we stay in touch, offer suggestions, and work with you to ease the kitty’s transition to your home.

What the Adoption Process Looks Like
1. Fill out the Adoption application
2. An adoption counselor will reach out to discuss your application
3. If both sides agree to proceed, we'll arrange a virtual or in-person meet and greet for you to meet the cat and ask the foster questions
4. We contact references and your veterinarian, if applicable, and conduct a virtual home check
5. We’ll send you an adoption agreement, the medical records and ask for the $125 adoption fee
6. We either deliver or you pick up your new family member
We strive to get back to you within a week of receiving your application. Please understand, that our adoption coordinators are all volunteers with full-time jobs and families. From application review to approval, the process can take about 2 weeks.
City Critters is not affiliated with any pet insurance companies but we strongly suggest the purchase of insurance as a means to cope with the soaring cost of veterinary care.
